I've been an avid traveler and adventure seeker my whole life and have recently decided to transform that passion into a career. In September, I signed with the travel agency FORA and became a certified travel advisor. In addition, I plan to specialize in sports and recreation travel since I have the most experience and thrill for planning and attending the most desired sporting events worldwide. I've been to the Paris Olympics, NCAA National Championship, Talladega Superspeedway's Geico 500, and many more renowned sporting events. I can't wait for this new venture and help clients check off thier bucket lists!

A family-owned business in northern Tallahassee, Deep Brewing Co. gave me the opportunity to enhance my skills and learn new ones as a Marketing and Events Manager and Beerista. I coordinated all private and public brewery events, charity requests, and promotions. I also oversaw the marketing, photography, graphic design, and coordination of new merchandise. My biggest accomplishment was reintroducing the monthly newsletter to over 2000 subscribers while spearheading the website redesign to strengthen the online presence and customer outreach of the brewery. Finally, I was a full-time lead bartender, ensuring the coordination of staff members in a fast-paced environment and maximized the sales and education of craft beer to over 1200 customers weekly.

Florida A&M Athletics

Communications and Digital Strategy Intern

Spring 2022

After my move to Tallahassee, FL, I contacted FAMU Athletics Director  who granted me the position of Communications and Digital Strategy Intern. My goal was to gain experience in collegiate sports management and enhance my communication skills. FAMU's small athletic communications department allowed me to be engaged in a variety of jobs, from social media posts to SID duties. I was also introduced to their website program, Sidearm. I was often responsible for uploading player bios and statistics and worked with Adobe's InDesign to create scorecards. I also became proficient with The Automated Scorebook while taking baseball and softball statistics for the games. This was my first experience working with a small school. One of the many benefits of this experience was working with the multi-faceted skills needed to fill the responsibilities of the athletic department.

Florida State Athletics

Facilities & Event Management Volunteer

Spring 2022

It was more difficult getting my foot in the door at FSU since I wasn't a student, but I eventually found an opportunity as a Facilities and Event Management volunteer in their Athletic Department. In contrast to FAMU, FSU has a massive athletics program, similar to Alabama. Their staff is immense with positions in every aspect of management. I worked with dozens of FSU students who were building internship hours for the FSU Sports Management BA/MA/Ph.D. program, which ranks number one in the country. My time there allowed a different appreciation while maintaining the facilities and managing the athletic events for football, golf, beach volleyball, baseball, track and field, and their offices in Doak Campbell Stadium. The position was fast-paced but allowed me to quickly develop new skills.

WVUA 23

Sports Reporter, Digital Sports Producer & News/Production Intern

January 2019 - May 2021

WVUA 23 is a commercial television station owned and operated by The University of Alabama. I was invited to join the station's production staff during my sophomore year of undergrad. I transitioned to a news editor the following summer and then reached my goal of joining the sports staff that fall. Throughout my time there, I interviewed professionals like Paul Finebaum, shot intense Alabama basketball SEC matchups, created packages about one-of-a-kind local stories, and so much more. The station provided an environment where I was able to obtain many professional skills needed to be successful in a variety of journalism settings post-college. I'm beyond thankful that the university granted me this opportunity and that I gained real newsroom experience as a student. WVUA set a solid foundation for me to build upon, propelling me forward in my media career.

WVUA-fm Radio

Playlist DJ and Digital Sports Contributor

2017-2018

After some experience in print and digital media during my freshman year, I realized my passion fell more toward broadcast. I joined WVUA-fm radio station later that semester. 90.7, The Capstone, is a student-run radio station owned and operated by the university. My position as a Playlist DJ allowed me to gain on-air experience by hosting weekly shows and familiarizing myself with the soundboard and station operating system. The limited opportunities in sports radio at the time encouraged me to explore digital opportunities. I was able to write Alabama baseball previews, recaps, and feature articles for their sports department section of the website, UA Gameday. My efforts were rewarded at the end of the year when I was given the Playlist DJ of the Year Award and a Dedication Oscar.

The Crimson White

Staff Writer

2017-2018

Beginning in print was an obvious first step at Alabama due to my experience in high school. They immediately put me to work, sending me to various events around campus for coverage. They published one edition per week that covered a wide range of topics around UA. I wrote preview, recap, feature, and human interest articles there. This was a great introduction to campus life, allowing me to get acclimated to various events and see what opportunities were available to students.

The Odyssey Online

Staff Writer

2018-2019

The Odyssey Online is a platform that invites anyone to apply and create content that is unique and original. The University of Alabama had its own chapter where creators would submit an article to our editors each week to be reviewed and then published on strict deadlines. The focus was modern and timely lifestyle content, however, we had the freedom to be creative and make it our own. I wrote a variety of articles from week to week, from topics significant to Tuscaloosa and UA, to big NFL news that was popular that week. I was required to promote my work on personal social media platforms and aim for high engagement levels.

George Mason University Athletics

Intern

Spring 2017 & 2014

The Warren Sentinel

Photographer/Staff Writer

Summer 2016

The Warren Sentinel is my hometown print newspaper. It was established in Front Royal, VA, in 1869. In high school, I knew I wanted to pursue my future studies in journalism, and wanted to gain experience as soon as possible. I reached out to the sports staff to see if I could help in any way and get some experience in print media. I covered events around town during the summer by taking notes, photographs, and writing captions for photos. Although I was young and inexperienced, this was a great introduction to print journalism.

George Mason is a public university in Fairfax, VA, in the NCAA DI Atlantic 10 conference. In my senior year of high school, we were required to complete an internship in our desired field. I contacted both Associate Communications Athletic Directors and was able to complete social media shadow thier roles at GMU for several days. A few years prior, I had a connection to the Head Track & Field Coach and was able to shadow him for a day to see what a job in collegiate coaching was like. My observation of his administrative duties and live coaching got me excited about the possibility of working in sports.

Front Royal Cardinals

Intern

Summer 2015

The Front Royal Cardinals are a collegiate summer baseball team in the Valley Baseball League housed at Bing Crosby Stadium. This was my first internship in my desired field. I was a long-time fan of the Cardinals and followed them from the beginning of my own baseball and softball career. I dreamed of being the mascot and dancing on the field, which eventually came to fruition when I was 16 years old. Other tasks assigned to me included ticket sales, concessions, and communications with the press box. This was an amazing first experience in the sports industry and the immersion and positive support allowed me to gain enough knowledge to solidify my pursuit of a career in the field.
