While every year, players stand on the diamond and pay tribute to Baseball's hero, Jackie Robinson, due to this year's circumstances athletes have been taking to social media to honor the legend.

From current to retired players, many people are celebrating Robinson's legacy through good deeds. Curtis Granderson announced his donation of 42,000 meals to COVID-19 food bank partners in honor of Robinson's signature 42.

Granderson said in his twitter post, "Although baseball may be on pause, today is bigger than baseball."

Former Dodgers Mookie Betts and Kenley Jansen posted a tribute on Twitter as well, honoring the star and attempting to keep hearts light at this time.

The Los Angeles Dodgers shared this graphic and post to their Twitter page to try and recognize Robinson with a new wallpaper. Teams and leagues have been very active on social media during this COVID-19 pandemic to reach out to fans and assure them they still have a plan.

Other Robinson tribute includes Marcus Stroman, pitcher from the New York Mets, who shared his Jackie inspired tattoo and Tim Anderson, a shortstop from the Chicago Whitesox, joined a Zoom call with White Sox Amateur City Elite program and spoke about, "the impact of Robinson's legacy on today's game."

Recognizing the importance of Robinson's career and reminding the public each year, especially during quarantine while there are no games to remind everyone, is essential.

From the mind of Jackie Robinson, "A life is not important, except in the impact it has on other lives," and that's just what our sport fanatic generation hopes to achieve.
