Despite the NFL Combine approaching quickly, former Alabama safety Xavier McKinney made time to visit the local children of The Benjamin Barnes Branch of the YMCA.

As the season of love is in full swing, McKinney planned a Valentine’s Day party that included pizza and cupcakes for the after-school program kids to enjoy. While the party was a lot of fun, McKinney took the most delight in spending time with the kids.

“For me it was just something that I needed to come back and show my support and show them how much I appreciate them and the community,” McKinney said.

McKinney emphasized the fact that he was once in their shoes, and hopes to inspire them to never give up on their dreams.

“Just trying to make sure to lead them in the right direction and make sure they go down the right path and just to let them know they can achieve anything if they put their minds to it,” McKinney said.
