Alabama Baseball vs Jacksonville State Preview

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.- After finishing the weekend against Kentucky 2-1 in the series, the Tide baseball boys are in full swing to play Jacksonville State on Tuesday night, April 3rd at 6 p.m. at The Joe. Jacksonville’s current record is 15-9 coming to Tuscaloosa in the Ohio Valley Conference, with 6 in conference wins. A win against the Gamecocks would secure a good spot in the three-game series this weekend in Columbia against the Missouri Tigers, who are currently 5-4 in conference, 21-7 overall. The starting pitcher is junior Sam Gardner, right-hander who has a 5.11 ERA (14 ER/24.2 IP) and seven appearances this season and five starting games. He’s pitching against senior right-hander, Sean Rape for Jacksonville.

The Tide has won the last 8 of 11 games against the Gamecocks and hope to add another to that record Tuesday night. Jacksonville is in the process of reconstructing a new stadium, therefore the Tide will travel to Florida on May 8th for their stadium opener.

Fans who plan on attending the game will only be charged $2 for tickets, and will receive a free Taco Mama coupon at the gate. Others who can’t attend, of course it will be aired on SEC Network and 102.9 fm radio.
